Stripe YSTE

Stripe YSTE child safety statement

Your safety comes first. At Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (YSTE), we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all children and young people. Nobody should make you feel frightened, unsafe, bullied, pressured, or uncomfortable. If something does not feel right, tell a trusted adult or a member of the event team.

You have the right to:

  • Be safe and be treated with dignity and respect

  • Say no if something makes you uncomfortable

  • Ask for help if you are worried about yourself or someone else

Our Safeguarding Arrangements

Stripe YSTE has adopted a Child Safeguarding Statement in accordance with the Children First Act 2015. To help keep children safe, we have:

  • Trained and Garda-vetted event staff and volunteers

  • Dedicated safeguarding contacts during the event

  • Procedures for reporting and responding to child protection and welfare concerns

  • Arrangements for online safety, including moderation of Stripe YSTE’s social media channels

Our Child Safeguarding Statement

Getting help during the event: If you feel unsafe or worried, speak to a member of the event team as soon as possible. Look for a volunteer in a red shirt, visit the Help Desk, or speak to event security or first aid staff. We will listen and help you get the support you need.

Online safety: If you experience or witness cyberbullying, harassment, misuse of photographs or videos, or any other online behaviour that makes you feel unsafe in connection with Stripe YSTE, including on our social media channels, please contact the Event Safety Officer using the details below.

Reporting concerns: If a child protection or welfare concern is raised during the event, Stripe YSTE will assess the concern and take appropriate action in line with its safeguarding procedures.

Where appropriate, concerns may be referred to Tusla and/or An Garda Síochána in accordance with applicable safeguarding requirements.
